About SportTrack

Last updated:

SportTrack is a sports blog run from India. We write about cricket first — the national sides, domestic cricket and the leagues around them — alongside football, kabaddi, hockey, chess and esports.

What you will find here

Explainers, analysis and comment on the sports we follow — how competitions and scoring systems work, what decided a result, and why a team is doing well or badly.

To be clear about what this site is: SportTrack is an independently run blog, not a news agency. We are not a media company, we do not employ reporters, and we do not have anyone at the ground. Our posts are written from public sources — official scorecards, press releases, broadcasts and published reporting elsewhere — and we say so rather than implying first-hand access we do not have.

How we work

SportTrack is written by one independent editor, who publishes under the pen name J. R. Patel for privacy. It is a single, consistent name for one real person — not a team, and not an invented persona. Every post carries that byline and a visible publication date. When a post is updated after publishing, the updated time is shown too. How we research, correct mistakes and handle advertising is set out in our editorial policy.

How the site is funded

SportTrack is supported by advertising. Ads never influence what we write about or what we say.
